From backyard business to market leading clay trap manufacturer...
Promatic International started back in 1985 in Beccles Suffolk (UK) as a back yard business, literally making traps from a barn building. In 1996 Brian Jardine bought Promatic, and moved it to Hooton, Wirral in the North West of England, in the centre of the automotive and aerospace region of the UK.
At this point Promatic only manufactured the Junior (personal use trap), Super Sporter and Rabbit machines. As the Sporting discipline grew, the need for different models of traps increased therefore the trap range increased vastly. Today Promatic manufacture over 80 models to suit Sporting & FITASC, Skeet, Olympic Trap, ABT & DTL, Simulated Game equipment and small personal use machines. As the demand for new machines grew, and new clay shooting disciplines grew or emerged, so did the need for bigger premises. Last year (2017) Promatic moved into bigger premises to increase manufacturing and logistical efficiencies.
Over the years the team has seen huge development – from 3 guys in a shed back in 1985 to a currently team of 68 UK based staff in the UK and 18 staff based in Plattsburg, MO, USA.
Promatic has been awarded with official FITASC partner status and supplies machines and controllers for major international Sporting competitions. Promatic has also supplied Olympic Trap and Olympic Skeet layouts for ISSF events internationally. Many of the Olympic layouts globally are used to train Olympic Trap and Skeet athletes.
