Promatic Acquisition of JP Baron

Promatic International Group, leading manufacturer of automatic clay traps used worldwide have acquired French electronic company JP Baron, an industry recognised designer and manufacturer of automated scoring and trap control systems for clay pigeon shooting.

Promatic, a house hold name for clay shooters, have been designing and manufacturing automatic clay traps for over 25 years, supplying equipment to the most distinguished shooting clubs and grounds internationally. Furthermore, Promatic, as market leader, support the World’s most prestigious competitions, particularly in Sporting and FITASC disciplines where they have supported over 25 international competitions in 2015 alone.

Jean-Pierre Baron of company JP Baron, based from Tours France, has been manufacturing trap controllers, radio systems and electronic scoring systems since 2001. As an electronics professional and passionate clay shooter, JP Baron has amalgamated his vocation to his pastime with the creation of specialised voice trap controllers, sequential scoring systems and scoreboard display software that are used and trusted in over 250 clubs and grounds internationally.


This takeover marks Promatic’s desire to combine resources to develop their current Claymate ground mamagement system to improve shooting grounds’ capability in scoring for international competitions, as well as the grounds’ day to day management of clays and equipment generally.
